Stängel bis 1 m lang, rund. Alle Blätter untergetaucht, schmal-bandförmig, 1,5-5 cm lang und 0,5-2 mm breit, mit feiner Spitze, ohne Zähne, 3nervig (seitliche Nerven oft undeutlich). Seitennerven in der Blattspitze fast rechtwinklig in den Mittelnerv mündend. Blatthäutchen bis 1 cm lang, unten nicht röhrig verwachsen. Keine deutlichen Blattscheiden. Blütenstände kopfig, bis 1 cm lang, meist nicht mehr als 5blütig, auf bis 3 cm langem, nicht verdicktem Stiel. Früchte warzig, ca. 2 mm lang, stumpf gekielt.Flowering period (© Flora Helvetica 2018)

Umriss rund oder oval. Grosse runde oder ovale Intercellularen. Epidermiszellen nicht verholzt.Description
Culm-diameter 0.5-1 mm, center full, radius of culm in relation to wall thickness 1:1. Outline circular with a smooth surface. Epidermis smooth. Epidermis cells thin-walled all around. Chlorenchyma present, continuous peripheral belt with unlignified round cells (like a large cortex). One vascular bundle in the center. Sheath around vascular bundles absent or not lignified. Vessels in vascular bundles around the phloem not to recognize in normal light. Cavities (intercellulars) between parenchyma-cells net-like (honeycomb).
