Posters ‘Protected Plants’

Information on protected species has a long tradition in Switzerland — a task that is more important than ever, given that one in three plant species is now considered threatened. While posters originally served mainly to deter hikers from picking legally protected species, they are increasingly used today for general awareness-raising and education. Together with Pro Natura and the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), InfoFlora developed a new series of posters in 2026 that combine protection status and threat status for the first time. These posters were produced for both the individual biogeographic regions and for Switzerland as a whole:

Protected plants in the Jura

Protected plants on the Swiss Plateau

Protected plants in the Northern Alps

Protected plants in the Western Central Alps

Protected plants in the Eastern Central Alps

Protected plants in the Southern Alps
