Ähnlich wie X. inapertum, aber schon unter der Mitte verzweigt, Blätter höchstens 3 cm lang, Köpfe 100-120blütig, Durchmesser zur Blütezeit 2,5-4 cm, Blüten hellviolett, Hüllblätter zur Blütezeit ausgebreitet, die innersten mehr als doppelt so lang wie die äusseren, Zungenblüten vortäuschend.
