Bis 2 m hoher Strauch. Blätter gegenständig, kurz gestielt, 3-6 cm lang, breit-eiförmig bis rundlich, ganzrandig oder mit einzelnen welligen Einschnitten, oberseits dunkelgrün, unterseits blaugrün, +/- kahl. Blüten in dichten kurzen Ähren an den Zweigspitzen und in den obersten Blattwinkeln. Krone glockig, weiss und rosa, +/- verwachsen, mit meist 5 stumpfen Zipfeln, 5-8 mm lang, innen dicht behaart. Frucht eine kugelige, weisse, schwammige Beere, Durchmesser 8-15 mm.
