Ähnlich wie S. rubra, aber Blätter fleischig. Nebenblätter kaum glänzend, kurz zugespitzt oder kurz stachelspitzig (bei S. rubra silberweiss glänzend und lang zugespitzt). Kronblätter dunkelrosa mit weisser Basis. Staubblätter 1-8 (bei S. rubra meist 10, selten 5). Samen zum Teil breit hautrandig geflügelt, 0,6-0,8 mm lang (bei S. rubra alle Samen ungeflügelt, 0,4-0,6 mm lang).
