Salvia officinalis L.

50-100 cm hoch, graufilzig, am Grund holzig (nur bei dieser S.-Art), stark aromatisch. Blätter eilänglich, runzelig, fein und stumpf gezähnt oder +/- ganzrandig, lang gestielt, Spreite 2-7 cm lang und 0,5-2 cm breit. Blüten in meist locker stehenden quirligen Teilblütenständen. Tragblätter eiförmig bis lanzettlich, kürzer als der Kelch, oft violett, früh abfallend. Krone violett, 1,7-2,5 cm lang, Oberlippe +/- gerade.
