Species description (Flora Helvetica 2018)

30-90 cm hoch. Blattstiel fast so lang bis doppelt so lang wie die Spreite, diese im Umriss breit-oval, einfach gefiedert, mit 3-5(-8) Fiederpaaren und endständiger Fieder, das unterste Paar 2teilig. Fiedern bis 20 cm lang und 0,5-1 cm breit, schmal-lanzettlich, ganzrandig oder fein gezähnt. Sori strichförmig am Rand der Unterseite, eine durchgehende Linie bildend, durch den häutigen, umgebogenen Blattrand schleierartig bedeckt, zuletzt frei.
