Species description

Perennial, with a thick, up to 10 cm long, rhizome,covered with dark remains of stipules and creeping above ground.The whole plant pubescent. Stem erect, 20-40 cm high, mostly unbranched, mostly with only 1 pair of cauline leaves, glandular, protruding hairs. Basal leaves on long petioles (10-20 cm long), pinnatisected, with 5-7 obovate lobes, 6-10 cm wide, shortly hairy. Inflorences is an umbel on 2-3 peduncles (each peduncle with 4-9 flowers), with 2-4 basalbracts. Flowers on short,galndularpedicels. Calyx is spherical. Sepals ovate, 3-nerved, with 1 — 3 mm long tips. Petals 14-18 mm long, rounded, pink to bloody-red, seldom white. Stamens and style long, protruding from corolla. Stigmais violet. Filaments curved.Fruit up to 6 cm long. Aromatic plant.
